I’ve never liked jigsaw puzzles, they are torture in my books, I don’t have that type of patience. My husband and kids could sit for hours on a quiet evening and sort and place tiny pieces of a picture that, even when complete, would never look as good as it did the moment prior to being cut up into hundreds of complicated pieces. I never understood the allure.
I love today’s technology, I love the ease of flying across an imaginary web and landing anywhere I can dream up. I love the click of a button simplicity. I don’t even want to imagine how the button works – the puzzle behind the ease of this technology is more complicated than anything that got dumped on my dining room table in the days of yore. There aren’t thousands of pieces in a technology puzzle there are a bazillion and it boggles my mind.I have never enjoyed being boggled.
I’ve been working with a young man to build my new website – my part in the project has been to dream up what I wanted – his part has been to make it so.He has sorted and placed a bazillion tiny pieces of technology into something that will be easy for me to navigate and look like a picture that was only ever imagined. He had to do this by using only the clues that I had a hard time even articulating.Never once did he look like he had been boggled by the challenge.
There has been some back and forth as I’ve been using the new site, some tweaks and changes in the days since its launch and I imagine there may be some more. It’s hard to determine what you need until you find out its not there. Last week’s tweak provided an option to leave comments on the blog posts—today I’m excited to announce the site has a SUBSCRIBE button located on the menu tab.
This SUBSCRIBE button tickles my fancy more than just about any of the other options on the menu bar. A simple click, the addition of an email address and a new post will be delivered directly into an email inbox. This boggles my mind – and today I’m not minding being boggled at all.
