About Elva Stoelers

Writing about life with a view from the third act. A teller of tales based on truth and experiences. Essays and musings. Reflections and ramblings. Lighthearted or not, they are stories of self discovery and coming to terms with the view from the other side of the hill. Older, for sure. Wiser, perhaps. Curious, always.

THERE IS A LOT MORE ABOUT ME, SCROLL DOWN
“I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself.
For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our
circumstance but by our disposition.”Martha Washington

Come, take a walk with me. Down to the water’s edge. We will watch the sun dance on the waves and listen to the surf. We will find a meditation there, in the wind and in the call of the birds. We will remember, together, what happened in the yesterdays of our lives. You may find your own memories between the lines of mine. We may find that we share a story or two, some thoughts and feelings. We will connect in our sameness and in our differences. We will touch base on the plains of thought.

The third act is a play unto itself – it has a beginning, a middle, an end – it is a new story, a new adventure. It is the finale. When I look in the mirror I see a lifetime reflecting back at me, I see a story – the story of me. I am the collection of all the experiences of my life, all the people I’ve met, the places I’ve been. I am compelled to write this story – to share it.
