I should have put an ‘out of office’ message on my website, a heads-up that I was taking a leave, but I thought I would write blogs and make posts while on vacation.  It turns out I’m actually taking the break I’ve probably needed for a long time.  I left commitments and worries on the kitchen counter, grabbed a suitcase and locked the door.  I’m officially ‘out of the office’.

I’ve been afraid to take a break from the blog, terrified I would loose momentum and just stop writing again. My last ‘break’ lasted for twenty years.  I ‘tomorrowed’ myself every day for those twenty years, procrastinating like a procrastination queen.  I promised myself that as soon as that holidaying muse walked in the door I’d get down to business again.  I hardly recognized her when she finally appeared.

That old muse and I are taking a break and a gamble for a couple of weeks.  We have a return ticket and a promise to get back to work when we get home. For now, we’re out of the office.
